Smallville: Clark/Lex

Pete’s POV, and light on the slash but really, really good.

double blind by nifra; 4.279 words

Smallville: Clark/Lex

There are a lot of celebrated clichés in this fandom, among them stories where either Clark or Lex has to pretend to be gay for the other’s sake. With some authors even a cliché as seemingly overdone as this one is entertaining and fresh. Nifra is definitely one of those authors.

Double Blind

adaptation and regression by madelyn; 4.922 words

Smallville: Clark/Lex

These share an AU which features College!Clark and Lex. Madelyn is a fabulous writer in possession of a good sense of humor and timing. I also recommend Super Gluing Cracks which is one of those short fics that still manages to sink it’s claws in and twist while giving me an ending that I can be happy with.

This is a really interesting story, sort of a glimpse into what’s going on for Vader behind the mask. Very cool.

Pre-RotS. This is a lovely short. Visceral and violent and hot all at the same time.

This is a short, but lovely vignette with some good dialogue and a great Ewan voice.

george lucas is pants by ethrosdemon; 645 words

Filed under: 1-2.500 words, pg-13, slash, star wars rps — theantimodel @ 3:40 pm

Star Wars rps:

Ewan/Hayden. A hilarious fic in which Hayden’s lack of pants is taken into account, and Jude law looses shoes. (It’ll make more sense if you read it.)

George Lucas is Pants

The Color of Denial by ethrosdemon; 1.524 words

Filed under: 1-2.500 words, pg-13, slash, star wars rps — theantimodel @ 3:30 pm

Star Wars rps Ewan/Hayden.

I cannot stress enough how much I love everything Ethrosdemon writes. She’s got this amazing ability to create vividly real characters, and this story is definitely not an exception to that rule. Seriously, authors like this are one in a million and should be cherished with all your heart. Go read.

The Color of Denial

Star Wars rps: Hayden Christensen, Ewan McGregor, Jude Law

Seriously, everyone should bug hackthis to keep writing in this universe. It’s so good. She’s always got interesting takes on characters and I love how she writes Ewan and Jude Law.

Harry Potter: Harry/Draco

What a man wants makes him vulnerable. It is the mismeasured ingredient in his potion, the spy in his House, the rat-nibbled hole in his invisibility cloak. It is the way in. Or so Lucius had always taught Draco, and Draco had never failed to make good use of that particular truth– Especially with a particular person.

This is a really great story. It’s interesting and just feels inevitable.

Awww yeah. The coolest, most underused character in Alias history in the HP universe. Hackthis most definitely owns me.

Filed under: 10.000-20.000 words, crossovers, harry potter, omg favorites, pg-13, popslash, slash — theantimodel @ 12:26 pm

Harry Potter/Popslash: Bill Weasley/JC Chasez.

If the idea of a popslash/harry potter crossover doesn’t grab you, maybe the really good writing and the completely adorable JC will make you more sympathetic. I really love this story. The writing is, as I mentioned, excellent and really funny as well. JC goes on vacation to Egypt and sees a lot more than he’d planned:

A human that JC hadn’t previously noticed spun toward him quickly, obviously startled, the thin piece of wood in his right hand shooting sparks. He muttered several words in quick succession that JC didn’t understand. He was dirt-smudged, decked out in comfortable excavation type clothes, with red hair pulled back into a messy ponytail and an earring that was hot enough to make JC rethink his utter terror of needles. JC held out a hand. “JC Chasez. You an archeology team, or something?”

The human transferred the stick into his sleeve and reached out to shake JC’s hand. “Bill Weasley. Or something.”

The OC: Seth/Ryan

Set at near the beginning of the series (aka the only episodes I’ve now seen) this is one way things might have gone. Great Seth perspective, his voice is somewhat tough to get right but this is pitch perfect, cultural references and hyperactivity right and left.

So evidently I have a thing for college fics across any and all fandoms I read. This is an almost-in-college story, but I think it still counts.

More futurefic, this time of the established relationship variety. I’m not usually all that interested in those but this one was particularly good.

Ocean’s 11: Rusty/Linus.

I love the way this is written. It’s detailed and the characters are strong, but mostly it’s lines like:

He stands with his weight back on his heels, hands quiet in his pockets; like most of the best pickpockets Rusty has known, Linus isn’t a fidgeter.

that really get me. What detail! This is fabulous.

CSI Nick/Greg

This story is incredibly good. It’s post Grave Danger and the author handles is beautifully. I love that Fabella writes a Nick that’s not broken, she does an amazing job of showing just exactly how Nick managed to get through that night alive, and the Nick/Greg relationship just works.
