Stargate SG-1/Atlantis: Jack/Daniel, Sheppard/McKay
This is a short, lovely set of vignettes which beautifully illustrate a future I would love to see happen in the Atlantis universe. This story definitely falls outside of my norm (long, plotty, R/NC-17) but it’s an absolute jewel.
House MD: gen, Wilson centric.
Canon gives us hints of Wilson not being the good, nice guy he seems to be and this story expands on that in some really cool ways. Missing scenes from eight episodes in which Wilson is at his manipulative best. I couldn’t remember all of the details from each of the episodes Descrime wrote about, but I remembered enough.

A good post-Devil’s Trap story, note: this is, obviously, chock full of spoilers for the season 1 finale.

OMG Dean and Sam and an orphaned kid and the metallicar and omg. Dean is so, so awesome when he’s all protective and grudging.
Stargate SG-1: Jack/Daniel.
First time fic, romantic and lovely without ever crossing the line into schmoopy or sacharrine. I really like Princessofg’s Jack and Daniel and I love that this story is just ansgty enough that you’re not quite sure where she’s going to take it.
The West Wing: Josh/Sam
I generally like longer stories than shorter ones. This particular story is a stellar exeption to the rule. It’s fairly short but perfectly moody and atmospheric. Stories like this are fantastic because every word in them serves a purpose. I love Sam, and I was sad to see him go. Without getting too meta on you all, I think in a lot of ways Sam’s leaving the show signified an end to the first stage of the show. This is a great story because it deals with that situation in a way that the show never did.
The West Wing: gen
This series is really good. Spoilers for the first two episodes of Season 2 In the Shadow of the Gunmen 1 &2 it’s a gen story, no pairing but the characterization is good and she’s added a lot of interesting depth to the events post-shooting.

Wherin Sam takes Josh to Florida for vacation. First time fic, good but not particularly great.
The West Wing: Sam/Josh
This is good, it’s long it has a politically driven plot and a good amount of angst and confusion. It also has some Josh/Amy and even less Sam/Ainsley so if the het really scares you then stay away.
Stargate Atlantis: Sheppard/McKay
This is a really funny story. It’s totaly crack fic but it’s really fantastic, there’s fuzzy alien pets and misunderstandings and just, yes to everything.

Lacey’s good at first time fics, this is a post-Grace Under Pressure story that deals with Rodney’s hallucinations in a slightly different manner than you might expect.

I have a lot of love for Lacey’s writing because her characterization is always interesting and her characters very fallible and very real. This is a nice post-Defiant One story about how Rodney deals.

The sga_flashfic school challenge has been good to me. This is another they-met-before-atlantis story, Rodney’s a museum expert and John’s on a school trip to Canada. 4,700 fantastic words which only serve to make me fall just a little more in love with John and Rodney.

A fascinating take on Heightmeyer’s experiences in Atlantis, and her diagnoses of the main cast. Make sure to read the comments for some interesting meta.

This is one of those stories that really helps solidify the characters in your mind. Basically, it’s Jack’s take on John after their post-Seige III return.

I’m a total sucker for they-met-before-Atlantis stories, this one was written for the sga_flashfic school challenge.

Rodney turns women into lesbians. Totally hilarious and perfectly Rodney.

John and Rodney. Omg. SGA fandom produces the best crack. And they illustrate it too! Seriously. This is the awesomest. Rodney gets turned into a very small grumpy dinosaur and it’s hilariously cute.

Oh man. Even more _____ gets turned into an animal fic! Totally cracktastic and painfully cute, this time it’s John getting turned into a polar bear and Rodney having to deal with it. I love that so many SGA authors are embracing their potential for shoving the boys into insane and humorous situations.
Smallville: Clark/Lex
First off this is college fic which just…always means good things ahead. And it’s by one of my favorite writers so that’s an even better guarantee. This story is beautiful and agonizingly built up to it’s natural conclusion. It’s really just a fabulous read.
Star Wars fps: Anakin/Obi-Wan
I wish this wasn’t such an angsty pairing, I’m such a sucker for happy endings. Nevertheless, the pairing is rife with slashy possibilities. I really like this one.
Harry Potter: Harry/Draco
Voldemort’s final victim resides with the other spell-damaged wizards in St. Mungo’s Hospital. Harry suffers survivor’s guilt and finds an unusual beta. Cream-colored knee-high leather boots make a brief appearance.
Evidently, this story is the author’s first attempt at slash. The plot is pretty cool, the premise original, but the writing is somewhat faulty. It’s heavy on the exposition in the beginning, but if you read past the fist scene I think she makes up for it by the end.
Popslash: JC/Nick Carter.
Written for the Don We Now Our Gay Apparel holiday challenge this is a fantastic AU in which JC is a busker in New York City and Nick is a struggling painter. I love AUs like this, the kind that take place in the real world. This one is especially fun because so many pop characters are in it and it’s always been enjoyable to me to see what kinds of jobs authors give them in an AU like this.
Popslash: JC/Justin
Joie is one of those authors who can write exeptionally develeoped characters. And this story is really strong on the details. This is like the ultimate comfort fic for me. It’s not schmoopy or anything, just quiet and soft and wanting. It’s set during the time Justin is recording his solo album and it’s just gorgeously written.
Jeeves and Wooster: J/W
This was written for the Yuletide challenge of 2004, until then I hadn’t any clue that Jeeves and Wooster fanfic even existed, but color me pleasantly surprised. Shallot is an incredibly talented writer in any fandom and Jeeves and Wooster is no exception. The story is perfectly Wodehouse in every turn of phrase. If you’ve ever picked up one of the Jeeves and Wooster books or seen the tv series you must read this story.
