Jeeves and Wooster: J/W

This was also written for the yultide challenge and it too is quite well done.

Jeeves and Wooster: J/W

I suspect that in a fandom as tiny as this, and with as daunting canon as Wodehouse, only truly gifted writers would choose to actually write fanfiction. I suspect this because Torch, like Shallot and Yahtzee is a very talented writer whose J&W fic is nothing short of great.

Jeeves and Wooster: J/W

Love love love. Jeeves and Bertie are always a romp and you can tell that Torch had a lot of fun writing in this fandom.

Beard

retrace the stars by marginalia; 533 words

Filed under: 1-2.500 words, master and commander, pg, slash — theantimodel @ 2:08 am

Master and Commander:

A complete gem. It’s short, but the style is effortless.

Retrace the Stars

nesting place by destina; 660 words

Filed under: 1-2.500 words, master and commander, pg, slash — theantimodel @ 2:02 am

Master and Commander: Aubrey/Maturin

Written for the Yuletide Challenge; short but lovely, a nice veiw of Jack when he’s not at sail.

Nesting Place

undertow by cori lanham; 369 words

Filed under: 1-2.500 words, gen, master and commander, pg — theantimodel @ 2:00 am

Master and Commander: Aubrey Maturin centric gen

Another Yultide story, this one is even shorter than Nesting Place, but it’s such a cute glimpse of Jack and Stephen at their most relaxed.

Undertow

misguided bullets by faye dartmouth; 1.119 words

Filed under: 1-2.500 words, gen, master and commander, pg — theantimodel @ 1:58 am

Master and Commander: Aubrey Maturin centric gen

A nice look at what was going on in Jack’s head when Stephen is shot, well written.

Misguided Bullets

the albatross by sun queen; 909 words

Filed under: 1-2.500 words, gen, master and commander, pg — theantimodel @ 1:55 am

Master and Commander: Aubrey Maturin slashy-gen

This is another story that tries to fill in the blanks surrounding Jack’s fight with Stephen and his subsequent shooting in the movie. She also wrote a follow-up story, Blood on the Moon.

The Albatross

maybe if we wait by jjtaylor; 995 words

Ocean’s 11: Danny/Rusty.

A short but good glimpse into how Rusty spent his time while Danny was in jail.

CSI Nick/Greg

Post-Grave Danger this is a really cool bit of Nick characterization.

Nick is actually really good at therapy. He finds it kind of freeing to talk about how he’s feeling, what he’s been dreaming, and he even gets to talk about Greg sometimes, which is a luxury he hadn’t known he would ever want, but there you go.

Connor/Murphy

It took me a while to be convinced that the characterization is on target, but she did, convince me that is. I have a hard time reading stories where Conner and Murphy have a problem that they can’t/won’t talk to eachother about because these guys are fucking attached at the hip-possessive/protective-codependent-whatever, so I have a pretty hard time getting around the idea that anything could get in the way of that. That said, this story does a good job of a) convincing me and b) telling a pretty awesome story. It’s set slightly before and during the movie timeline and goes through some of the events from Conner’s perspective. And it’s just plain cool.
