Stargate Atlantis: Sheppard/McKay
Another post-Seige III story. The title should say it all, it’s a lovely introspective ficlet from Rodney’s perspective about John’s crappy, crappy goodbye.

Stargate Atlantis: Sheppard/McKay
The author’s description of the story as “foofy humor” is pretty fitting, Sheppard is dense and drunk and it’s funny and a little sweet.
Stargate Atlantis: Sheppard/McKay
I don’t know why I haven’t recced this before but I really love this story. Rodney gets some temporary telepathic abilities thanks to an ancient toy. What I like most about this story is that minnow really took the time to flesh it out and cover all of the aspects of Rodney hearing the thoughts of half the population of Atlantis, like not being able to sleep because of the invading dreams, and being disturbed that so many Atlanteans want to have sex with Sheppard. This is really a pretty seamlessly told story and the sheppard/mckay relationship is well built.
Stargate Atlantis: Sheppard/McKay
Post-Hive this story is patented Giddy Geek, there’s snark and fabulous characterization and I love Rodney a lot in this.
“Over the next twenty-five years, we could have sex 3900 times,” Rodney said, ignoring him, “if we averaged about four times a week, which I certainly could. In that same twenty five years, you’d come close to dying 45 times while I watched helplessly, if you continued averaging about 1.8 times a year, which you almost certainly will–and look how generous I’m being. I’m not even taking into account the number of times you could almost die while I fight to save you. I’m sorry, but in terms of risk assessment, those are just unacceptable numbers, Colonel.”
Stargate Atlantis: Sheppard/McKay
Another take on the school challenge but set in Atlantis not the past; this time John’s teaching Rodney about sex.
Stargate Atlantis: Sheppard/McKay
I really, really like Frostfire’s writing style. This is fun and short but such a good take on the fact that John and Rodney are both very much of the guy variety of males, ie. slightly dense and fairly incapable of communicating.
Stargate Atlantis: Sheppard/McKay
A post-ep story for The Hive. I totally love everything Ami’s written.
Smallville: Clark/Clark
This is really awesome. It’s, you know, a take on the doppelganger thing except it’s also, possibly, a really cool twist on the superman mythology. Yeah, I don’t want to say too much except that this is really, really cool.
Smallville: Clark/Lex
Post rift, a lovely, medium-short about things getting less complicated.
Smallville: Clark/Lex
Such a natural progression and it just feels right the whole time.
Star Wars rps: Jude Law/Ewan McGregor/Hayden Christensen
There’s Jude! and Bathtubs! It’s fabulous, really.
Star Wars rps: Star Wars RPS/X-over madness: Hayden/Ewan, Hayden/Ryan Atwood, Viggo/Orlando, Hayden/Ryan Gosling, Hayden/Jude Law.
Trust hackthis to take the 5 Things story and make me wish that every single one of the scenarios were real.
Star Wars rps: ewan/hayden
Oh man, this is a weird blend of fiction and rps. But weird in a good way. A really good way. Mmmmmm method acting.
Star Wars rps: Ewan/Hayden. Oh christ, there’s lightsabers and ear blowing and just. yeah.
It’s like they’re speaking their own language — the Whooshing Lightsaber language — and Hayden wonders how to say ‘Do you want to fuck me?’ in Lightsaberese.
Star Wars rps: Jude/Ewan, Ewan/Hayden, Jude/other, Ewan/other… fuck, you get the message.
Are you tired of me reccing these two yet? Because I’m just going to keep on doing it. I really love the way zarah and kassie turn phrases.
Star Wars rps: Ewan/Hayden
Hackthis kills me, she’s an absolute master at turning incredible phrases. This story is lovely.
Star Wars RPS: Hayden Christensen/Ewan McGregor/Jude Law
Oh yes. Hackthis is fantastic.
Lotrips: Viggo/Orlando
Vampire AU. It takes a lot of talent to make a short AU story work, but Megolas does it wonderfully.
Harry Potter: Harry/Draco
The seeker who draws the Wheel of Fortune card is at the beginning of a cycle. He is able to change at a moment’s notice, but the wheel will turn with or without him. An opportunity may present itself; the seeker must take action or the opportunity will be lost. This is a turning point in his life.
This was written for the Big Bang, Baby challenge so it’s long and plotty and all about the H/D. CJ Marlowe is a really talented writer, and this story is no exception, I fully recommend reading her popslash and lotrips too.
Harry Potter: Harry/Draco
Harry’s characterization is vastly different in this story than your average fandom incarnation. But I’m having trouble deciding whether that’s a good or a bad thing. Part of what I love about rps is the fact that characters can vary wildly from story to story but if the writing is good, all incarnations are equally believable and real. That’s not really the case with fiction-based fandoms and I’m not sure these writers have sold me. This is a really cool story though, the side characters are all really well fleshed out.
Harry Potter: Harry/Draco
In which Harry and Draco continually run into each other.
What are the odds, really? Zarah has always been one of my favorite fandom writers (she does amazing lotrips too) this story is another great example of why I love her, interesting characterization, and a unique ability to make every story’s progression natural.
Harry Potter: Harry/Severus
I’ve been talking about interesting use of magic in my previous recs but this story takes the cake. Tara’s got a great feel for progression and while the story is interesting, the setting is amazingly detailed and vibrant.
Popslash: JC/David Bowie, JC/Joey.
Take a good look at that pairing. Now ignore every negative thought you might possibly have. I read this story years ago. It was fantastic then and it’s fantastic now. I’ve actually kept thinking about it ever since I first gave it a chance. It’s heartbreaking and fascinating and just wonderfully detailed. Rachel clearly has a whole lot of love for David Bowie, and he’s really one of the main characters in the story. I think the weirdest thing about this series is the fact that it’s one of the only first person stories I’ve ever enjoyed. Rachel, basically, manages to take all of this shit I could never imagine liking and makes me fall in love. Really, give this one a chance, it’s worth it.
Popslash: Combinations of Justin Nick JC and Christina.
It’s an au, I guess you could call it a high school au since Justin and Nick are both 17 in it but they don’t actually go to school much, so. It’s, well, it’s almost like a gay Jay and Silent Bob mixed with Cruel intentions without the devious plotting and gratuitous stoner jokes. Nick and Justin have this fascinating and intricate friendship that’s kinda fucked up and really, really interesting. In this story the characters just feel real. They’re young and fucked up and so very much like people you know in real life. This is a fantastic read.
Popslash: Chris/JC
This story was written for this year’s Don We Now Our Gay Apparel holiday challenge. I really love this story. It’s wonderfully fun, Giddy Geek is really good with humor, and while I tend to be pretty partial to the Justin/JC pairing, there’s something really cool about the JC/Chris pairing. Writers who can mesh their personalities and make it really work get my approval pretty quick. I don’t want to go into too much detail about this because the story is so gripping and I’d hate to spoil it in any way, but the story involves like, the Burmuda Triangle of hurricanes or something. JC throws a hurricane party and time stops and Chris and JC have to deal with it. The concept is really fucking awesome.
Popslash: Justin/JC
This is a really cool story. It’s based on a concept that Jae wrote about in her story Sight [joey/justin]. In Sound though, Justin stops hearing JC’s voice. It’s a fascinating and creepy idea and Liz plays it out wonderfully. Also, the story is set during the guys’ most recent tour (aka a few years ago now) it deals with a lot of the issues us fans have been dealing with since the hiatus about why the group decided to take a break, and about Justin going solo.
Popslash: Justin/JC
This was written for the JuC Author’s Story Swap and it’s just gorgeous. Jae’s writing is always above average and this story is so evocative. It’s a series of interrelated vignettes that all come together to tell the story if JC and Justin. I love stories that are chock full of history because it’s always a good thing to flesh out the characters.
