So, you know, comics canon is far more invested in crack fic than fanfiction could ever hope to compete with. Shallot makes use of one of my favorite bits of DC canon wtf-level crack: Kon, aka Superboy, who is the test-tube baby of Superman and Lex Luthor. No seriously. In DC comics canon Lex Luthor and Clark Kent have a baby together. This story is fabulously funny and wonderfully long; no previous knowledge of DC canon needed to enjoy.

Reconcilable Differences

So, you know, I have a not so secret love for mpreg when it’s written well. Well as in fully recognizing the ridiculousness of the genre and delighting in taking a bizarre situation and making it funny and awesome all at the same time. There’s banter, and and it’s a post-rift future fic and Lex built a Superbot and just yes. You should read this.

Up the Yin Yang

Shallot pretty much rules at everything so when I heard that she’d written new Smallville I jumped at the opportunity for a good, long read. And this satisfies perfectly. Long, plotty, and well detailed, it ties in perfectly with the Batman Begins mythology and has a great Bruce Wayne.

Te is a really talented writer. Her stories are guaranteed to be unique, complex and scortchingly hot.

The Project Series

Rivka is one of my favorite writers because she usually writes amazingly incredible futurefic. She has this unique ability to create worlds that are so intricately detailed you can smell them. This stroy is dark and gorgeous with fascinating characterizations. Bruce Wayne is a wonderful character and Rivka writes him well.

No Darker Than Yours

So this story got it’s start in the fact that in the Superman comics Lex and Clark have a biological kid (whom Lex created for his own nefarious purposes out of his and Superman’s dna.) Pru decided to write a story set in the Smallville universe where this happens (although Lex isn’t really evil in the story.) This is probably the funniest story in the entire history of the fandom. I don’t even think I could accurately describe it if I tried but it should be read because it’s a fucking classic. Connor is the best thing ever. And Pru continued the story in Visiting Hours which is the continuing saga of Connor and his incredibly melodramatic life. Touching and hilarious and heartwrenching. I really love this universe.

Hot, long, plotty and interesting. I love the way Dana writes in the smallville universe. She’s always got an interesting take on the universe.

Deliciously creepy Lex, dark, but so, so good.

One of those cliché stories (marraige fic) that turns into so much more because of the authorship. Deliciously long and engaging.

Phone sex with a side of established relationship. Also good by the same author: Personal Call, yet more phone sex (what can I say? It’s a kink); Teaching Philosophy features determined!Clark, and Disturbing the Rythm which has both college!Clark and frottage and is, therefore, fabulous.

Pete’s POV, and light on the slash but really, really good.

Project Metropolis

This story has the same wonderfully fleshed out feeling that we’re used to from RivkaT, and it’s just fun (and deliciously long). It was written for Rose Emily’s Lois and Clark go to Smallville Challenge and you should go read all of those stories because they’re great.
